If you want to do a few small things right, do them yourself. If you want to do great things and make a big impact, learn to delegate.

- John C. Maxwell

Ok, let me start this by saying — this is a really important message.

I'm trying to paint a picture so you feel the impact, but ultimately you need to know this: work is changing. The ground is moving beneath us, and we have to be ready to adapt.

I know you feel it. That's why you're reading. You're looking for someone with answers.

Well, history can tell us a lot about radical transformations and disruptive technology. But where it has the best batting average is the human psychology of those events. For all of our high-tech tools and sophistication, we largely behave the same way we've always behaved. And that behavior is predictable.

So if you're someone who sees the AI train headed straight for them and you want to prepare, you have to start by reconsidering the things that have always "worked for you", and start considering how you can help other people.

If you've ever run an organization, you've likely trudged through this line of thinking and self-improvement. You realize quickly that the organization you're building has to have a purpose. As Simon Sinek famously said, you have to "start with why."

Your "why" is going to power your future. And if you have a strong one, you are well positioned to take advantage of the amazing future that AI promises — because these tools do one thing exceptionally well: AI allows ordinary people to contribute in extraordinary ways through cheap leverage.

Leverage

Alexander the Great didn't conquer the known world by doing everything himself. He built a team of generals — Parmenion, Ptolemy, Craterus — and gave them real authority. Parmenion commanded half the army at Gaugamela. Ptolemy ran intelligence. Alexander kept the vision and led the decisive charge. He delegated the execution. The result? An empire stretching from Greece to India.

You don't scale by doing more. You scale by trusting the right people and delegating authority.

But most of us aren't born to the throne of Macedonia. We're individuals working within a system. And for regular people, the path to greatness isn't conquest, it's leverage. General Electric, Ford, Microsoft, Amazon, SpaceX — all distinct reminders that greatness is born from an idea with sufficient leverage to break free from the gravitational pull of mediocrity.

These companies leveraged capital and talent toward a common goal and a specific outcome. Building them required a massive amount of energy. Just like E=mc², the physics of building any great leveraged asset means the faster your growth, the more mass the system must absorb to maintain its velocity. As an organization grows, it must consume more capital and more talent to ensure system integrity.

Personal Leverage

We are entering a new era of personal leverage. To truly achieve abundance as a society, we have to remove the energy requirements that stand between a great idea and a product or service that benefits others.

Artificial Intelligence promises to deliver that personal leverage to the masses in a way we've never seen before. Tens, hundreds, or even millions of intelligent agents working on your behalf to execute your idea.

And this is where it gets good.

Right now, AI can literally become your team of experts — launching your idea into tangible results. The titans I mentioned above would have absolutely loved the leverage you now hold in your hand.

If your "why" aligns with others, organize and deliver results. If it's your own unique "why," build and attract an audience. And if you're lucky enough to already be in an organization that aligns with your "why," use AI to 10x your output and flex your creative muscles to advance the cause.

Build

I just want you to know, AI IS going to transform the way we work. It will literally transform the concept of work itself. Those of us discovering this new reality in real time have an incredible opportunity to create and shape our future, for ourselves and for generations to come.

Just because you didn't build AI doesn't mean you don't get a say in how it impacts your life. Your only duty right now is to take action. Learn, experiment, and build, but most importantly, start with “why”.

Until next week,
